We are primarily seeking candidates with strong research interests for AI algorithm implementation for biomedical sciences.
General Requirements
- Ph.D. on either the programming/algorithm side (Computer Science, Data Science, Artifical Intelligence, Software Engineering, etc.) or the domain side (Biology, Bioinformatics, etc.) (Compulsory)
- At least two first-author publications in a JCR top-10% journal (Compulsory)
- Strong synergy with the lab’s research directions (Compulsory)
- Strong academic writing (papers/grants) and English communication skills (Preferred)
- Passion for Learning: We seek individuals with a strong desire to expand their knowledge across both computer science and biomedical science.

Available Postdoctoral Fellowship Programmes
We would be glad to help strong candidates prepare for the following fellowships.

RGC Junior Research Fellow Scheme (JRFS).- Provides 60 awardees per year with 24 months of full-time postdoctoral support (extendable by up to 12 months), including an annual stipend of ~HKD425,000 (inclusive of a ~HKD13,500 travel allowance).
- Eligibility: PhD conferred on or after 1 January 2023 (not more than three years before the exercise year), or to be completed by 31 August 2027; and a legal right to work and reside in Hong Kong during the fellowship.
- Application submitted to the university by the end of August; final results announced in April if nominated by the university.

Jockey Club STEM Early Career Research Fellowship for Translation and Application.- Up to 10 Fellowships are awarded in each cohort. Each Fellowship lasts a maximum of four years, including an up to 12-month local industry attachment.
- Fellows will receive a stipend of up to $530,000 per annum for three years. Upon successful completion of the Fellowship, an additional 15% gratuity will be offered.
- Academic Development and Exchange Allowance (up to $30,600 per annum for three years)
- Research Project Seed Funding (up to $300,000)
- Translational Research Industry Attachment Subsidy in an eligible local organisation (up to 50% of the salary, capped at $30,000 per month, for a maximum of 12 months, in addition to the three-year stipends)
